Job Description
Role & responsibilities
The Data Scientist delivers hands-on advanced analytics and machine learning solutions to address complex business problems. This role focuses on data exploration, feature engineering, model development, and insight generation, working closely with business partners and AI/ML engineers to ensure solutions are production-ready and deliver measurable value.
EXPERIENCE LEVEL NOTE: This role is scoped within Fieldglass and is intended for experienced individual contributors who operate independently, are hands-on in delivery, and have no people-management responsibility.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) on large, complex datasets
- Develop, test, and validate statistical and machine learning models
- Apply feature engineering, model selection, tuning, and evaluation techniques
- Translate business requirements into analytical solutions
- Partner with AI/ML engineers to support model deployment
- Design and analyze experiments (A/B tests, pilots)
- Ensure analytical accuracy and data quality
- Document models, assumptions, and findings
- Support governance and Responsible AI standards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong hands-on experience in data science and advanced analytics
- Proficiency in Python and Azure ML
- Strong understanding of statistics and machine learning
- Experience working with large datasets
