Job Description
The Accounts Receivable Analyst will be part of the India AR Shared Services team within Finance Operations. The role supports end-to-end AR activities and month-end close for one or more global entities, while contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives.
Responsibilities
Invoicing & Billing
- Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and on time using Salesforce, in line with invoicing schedules
- Coordinate with Client Partners and Project Managers to obtain invoice approvals
- Follow up with employees on missing or incomplete timesheets
- Analyze project travel expenses to determine billability and raise expense invoices
- Track invoicing status, identify bottlenecks, and provide updates in weekly finance calls
Accounts Receivable Operations
- Apply and post customer payments (cash, bank transfers, cheques, and online payments)
- Monitor AR aging and follow up on overdue balances
- Communicate with customers regarding invoices, payments, discrepancies, and disputes
- Resolve billing issues, short payments, deductions, and customer disputes
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate variances
Reporting, Close & Compliance
- Prepare AR reports, aging summaries, and collection status updates
- Assist with monthly expense accruals
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and applicable tax/VAT regulations
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Participate in global finance operations projects under the guidance of the AR Lead
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and eliminate non-value-added activities
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a change agent to drive efficiencies
- Serve as a go-to person in the absence of the AR Senior
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and ownership of deliverables
Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable, encompassing invoicing and credit control/collections, for Asia-Pacific or global entities
- Basic knowledge of financial and accounting transactions in a globally distributed IT services environment, including mandatory timesheet submissions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to investigate, explain, and follow up on inquiries independently
- Comfortable receiving direct feedback and collaborating with team members
- Fast learner, highly organized, and detail-oriented
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Flexibility to work extended hours when required
Highly Desirable
- Salesforce and PeopleSoft Financials experience is a plus.
- Experience supporting a US-owned European subsidiary.
