Position Summary... A Senior Software Engineer Front End Developer at Walmart is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable web applications using modern frameworks like ReactJS. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring high standards of code quality, performance, and accessibility. About Team:
Associate Technology: We are dedicated to creating a seamless and frictionless experience for associates throughout the Rx journey. Our focus is on upholding the highest standards of compliance and auditing, while delivering effective digital solutions that support EDLP, ensuring customer safety and making our developers proud. The Associate Technology Health & Wellness team at IDC manages multiple aspects of the pharmacy experience, both in-store and online. We oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of the programs within our scope.
What you will do:
- Design, develop, and optimize modern web applications using frameworks such as ReactJS, Node.js, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following Walmart s coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and help enforce code quality through peer review processes
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Contribute to technical architecture discussions and help drive decisions on front-end frameworks, tooling, and best practices.
- Ensure web applications are accessible, performant, and secure.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in front-end development, with a strong portfolio of shipped web applications.
- Expertise in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks such as ReactJS (preferred), Angular, or Vue.js.
- Experience with Node.js and building RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and code review processes
- Strong understanding of web performance optimization, security best practices, and accessibility standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with Walmart s open-source stack (e.g., Electrode, Concord)
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure.
- Contributions to open-source projects or internal developer communities.
- Leverage GenAI for simplifying tasks and improve developer productivity.
