RAN Test Engineer @ HCLTech

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a RAN Testing Engineer with strong Python automation skills to validate and ensure the performance of LTE/5G radio access networks. The role involves test design, execution, and automation to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform testing and validation of RAN (LTE/5G NR) features and functionalities
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python
• Design test cases for functional, regression, and performance testing
• Execute test plans and analyze results for network behavior
• Work with logs, traces, and KPIs to identify and troubleshoot issues
• Validate protocols such as RRC, MAC, PHY, and NAS
• Collaborate with development, integration, and operations teams
• Support field testing and lab testing activities
• Prepare test reports and documentation

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of LTE/5G RAN architecture
• Proficiency in Python scripting (automation frameworks, APIs, libraries)
• Understanding of wireless protocols (RRC, MAC, PHY, NAS)
• Experience with test tools and simulators (UE simulators, traffic generators)
• Familiarity with log analysis and debugging
• Basic understanding of CI/CD and test automation pipelines
