Job Description
We have an exciting opening for Linux system administrator role @ TAO Digital Solutions.

Experience: 5 to 10 yrs (L3 Support)
Work Location: Chennai
Mode of Work: All 5 days work from office
Shift Timing: 08:30 PM to 04:30 AM (Pick & Drop facility will be provided)
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain servers, workstations, and network devices. Perform routine system checks, updates, and backups.
- Ensure the stability, security, and availability of systems.
- Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Implement and manage security protocols and tools (e.g., antivirus, firewalls).
- Ensure that systems comply with organizational security policies.
- Assist in responding to security incidents.
- Install and configure software applications and operating systems on servers and workstations.
- Manage software licenses and ensure compliance.
- Manage data backup processes and ensure backups are regularly performed and verified.
- Maintain accurate records of system configurations, network and IT procedures.
- Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
- Use monitoring tools to track system and network performance.
- Respond to alerts and take corrective actions to resolve issues.
- Work with senior system administrators and IT teams on projects and initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss and plan system improvements.
- Stay updated with new technologies and best practices in system administration.
- Attend training sessions or obtain certifications to enhance skills. Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux), basic networking knowledge, understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and experience with common system administration tools.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with users and document processes.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to handle multiple responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- 6 to 10 years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator or similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting internal IT users in a mid- to large-scale organization.
- Proven ability to act as an escalation engineer and guide junior administrators.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and customer-centric communication.
- Experience creating SOPs, improving workflows, and implementing efficient processes.
- Familiarity with Freshservice or similar ITSM tools.
- Ability to work night shifts or flexible schedules as required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Linux server administration.
- GitLab administration knowledge.
- Knowledge of virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).
- PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls).
- Proxmox virtualization and Puppet and Linux admin are also a huge part of the job.
- Cultural fit is also important for the role.

- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Calm under pressure and solution-oriented.
