Software Engineer III @ Walmart

• Assume primary responsibility for the development, testing, and deployment of software solutions in accordance with engineering standards
• Identify and resolve defects while providing comprehensive support for software products deployed in production environments
• Foster effective collaboration within team units and across functional boundaries to achieve organisational objectives
• Conduct systematic performance analysis and implement optimisation strategies to resolve identified bottlenecks
• Refactor and enhance existing codebases to improve maintainability, performance, and adherence to quality standards
• Establish and maintain tools, processes, and documentation frameworks to elevate code quality standards across the organisation
• Own significant feature development and code ownership responsibilities while deploying solutions to hundreds of thousands of users daily
• Engineer solutions incorporating complex and varied data structures to meet business requirements
• Operate effectively in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment where experimentation and iteration drive continuous improvement
• Support customer success initiatives through direct engagement to ensure optimal product experience and satisfaction

What You Will Bring

• B.E/B.Tech/MS in Computer Science or related field, with 2+ years of experience in large-scale distributed systems
• Skilled in scripting languages (Java, Python, SQL)
• Experience with RESTful APIs, OAuth, JWT, Kafka and API gateways
• Proficiency in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot with experience building large-scale, robust backend microservices
• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Cosmos) and distributed SQL (like Presto)
• Experience with container orchestration frameworks including Kubernetes
• Expertise in designing and managing scalable, secure solutions using cloud platforms like Azure and GCP
• Strong software engineering practices (GitHub, CI/CD, VSCode) with experience in unit and integration testing using JUnit, Mockito, and code quality tools like Sonar
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment strategies to improve reliability
• Experience troubleshooting performance bottlenecks using profiling tools
