Job Description

Job Title: Zonal Business Manager South Zone (3rd Line Manager)

Location: Bangalore - (Covering entire South Zone)

Reporting To: Sales Head

Role Purpose

To drive business growth, market expansion, and team performance across the South Zone by effectively leading and managing a multi-layered sales team comprising Regional Managers (2nd line), Clinical Nutrition Managers (1st line), and Clinical Nutrition Executive.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Delivery & Growth

  • Own and deliver zonal sales targets (Primary & Secondary) aligned with company objectives
  • Develop and execute zone-specific business strategies to maximize market share
  • Identify new business opportunities, key accounts
  • Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities

2. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead and mentor a large, multi-tier team structure (2nd line, 1st line, and field force)
  • Drive a high-performance culture through regular reviews, coaching, and motivation
  • Ensure capability development, succession planning, and talent retention
  • Conduct periodic field visits for on-ground coaching and alignment

3. Sales Operations & Governance

  • Ensure effective implementation of sales processes, systems, and reporting
  • Maintain strong forecasting accuracy and demand planning
  • Monitor ROI on schemes, promotions, and field activities
  • Ensure compliance with company policies

4. Channel & Market Management

  • Strengthen distribution network, stockist management, and supply chain coordination
  • Build and maintain relationships with key distributors, institutions, and opinion leaders
  • Drive market penetration in urban and rural segments
  • Ensure product availability, visibility, and execution excellence

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain and HR teams
  • Provide market insights to support product strategy and campaigns
  • Support execution of new product launches and promotional initiatives

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 1218 years of experience in Pharma / Healthcare / Nutrition industry
  • Minimum 35 years in a 2nd line / Zonal leadership role
  • Proven track record of handling large geographies and team sizes

Education

  • Graduate (Science / Pharmacy preferred)
  • MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred
