Role & responsibilities

A Home Health Coding Trainer instructs and audits staff on OASIS, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes to ensure accurate home health reimbursement and compliance with CMS regulations. They develop training materials, mentor coding teams, and review clinical documentation, requiring proficiency in coding standards. Cigma Healthcare Academy +1Key Responsibilities

• Training & Mentoring: Develop, implement, and lead training sessions on home health coding guidelines and OASIS-E updates.
• Quality Auditing: Conduct regular audits of coding accuracy to maintain high compliance standards and ensure proper reimbursement.
• Documentation Review: Analyze clinical documentation, including physician notes, therapy assessments, and OASIS forms to validate code accuracy.
• Staff Education: Educate clinicians on documentation requirements to ensure that clinical records accurately reflect the patients condition.
• Mentoring: Mentor and provide feedback to coding specialists, including answering questions and providing guidance on complex cases
