Job Title: QA/ QC Engineer - Mechanical
Location: Visakhapatnam
Employment Type: Full-time contractual (On SGS Payroll)
Working Days: 6 days/week
Working Hours: 9 hours/day

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to oversee and ensure quality compliance for mechanical works in large-scale construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for implementing quality assurance and control procedures across heavy equipment installation, piping, structural works, and erection activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures, inspection plans, and quality documentation.
- Monitor and ensure quality control of mechanical works including:
- Heavy equipment installation
- Piping systems
- Structural fabrication and erection
- Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Prepare and review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality reports.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and clients for quality-related matters.
- Perform site inspections, witness testing, and ensure adherence to approved procedures.
- Identify non-conformities and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and project handover.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, codes, and standards (ASME, ASTM, ISO, etc.)
- Experience in large-scale construction or industrial projects
- Expertise in inspection of mechanical equipment, piping, and structures
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office and QA/QC documentation tools
