Job Description

Job Title: Principal Data Scientist

Department: SymphonyAI Industrial


As Principal Data Scientist at SymphonyAI Industrial, you will provide strategic leadership and vision, driving operational excellence, business expansion, and long-term growth. You will lead cross-functional teams, define and execute high-impact initiatives, and partner closely with executive management to shape organizational strategy and deliver measurable results.

You will also play a pivotal role in driving the deployment and adoption of cutting-edge AI solutions for global industrial clients. You will engage across multiple frontsproduct development, data science, model build and delivery, value tracking, ROI demonstration, and client change managementto ensure that our solutions deliver measurable business outcomes. This role requires exceptional technical acumen, proven client engagement skills, and the ability to seamlessly collaborate with teams and stakeholders across the globe.


Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Planning: Develop and articulate the strategic roadmap for the department aligned with corporate goals; define long-range objectives, growth targets, and critical success metrics.
  • Operational Excellence & Process Optimization: Oversee and optimize workflows, processes, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and accelerate delivery cycles.
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Interact with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., product, operations, delivery, sales, support), fostering a high-performance culture and enabling teamwork across geographies and functions.
  • Stakeholder & Executive Collaboration: Engage with senior leadership, board, clients, vendors, and external partners; build and nurture relationships, negotiate contracts/partnerships, and influence enterprise-level decisions.
  • Strategic Initiatives & Change Management: Lead transformation projectssuch as digital transformation, business model shifts, new product/service launches or market entrieswith strong governance, risk management, and change leadership.
  • Performance Measurement & Reporting: Define KPI frameworks, track progress against targets, generate management reports and dashboards, and provide actionable insights to drive decision-making.
  • Talent Management & Organizational Development: Drive hiring, talent development, succession planning and organisational structure to support scaling, growth, and future readiness.
  • Compliance & Governance Oversight: Ensure adherence to regulatory, legal, and internal audit/compliance standards; uphold corporate governance, quality standards, and ethical business practices.
  • Culture & Vision Ambassador: Advocate and embed company values and culture, champion diversity, inclusion, innovation, continuous improvement and organizational resilience.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in AI/ML-based project delivery and Data Science, with experience in data contextualization, analysis, and model deployment.
  • Minimum 6+ years in senior level driving large teams and high-impact business operations.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale digital transformation projects.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing domains, including use cases, systems, end-user personas, processes, and technologies is a plus.
  • Comfort using data, business intelligence and analytics to inform strategy, measure performance, and drive outcomes.
  • Experience collaborating across functions (product, operations, sales, finance) and influencing stakeholders at executive level.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex initiativesorganizational transformation, process reengineering, digital/technology adoption.
  • Strong background in process design, operational excellence, quality assurance or delivery excellence.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-changing environments; ability to steer through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Experience in Industrial Automation domain, SaaS, consulting, manufacturing, Supply chain services at scale.
  • Demonstrated success in launching new products/services or entering new markets/regions.
  • Familiarity with global operations, cross-border teams, and multicultural work environments.
  • Strong track record of change management, restructuring, turnarounds or business transformation.
  • Proficiency with strategic and operational tools/platforms.
