Senior Data Engineer @ Cyient

Job Description

Job Title: Sr Data EngineerLocation: BangaloreWork Type: WFOCore Database & Data Platform Expertise

• Deep hands-on expertise with Amazon Redshift, including:
• Warehouses, databases, schemas
• Roles, users, and resource monitors
• Secure data sharing and external tables
• Advanced SQL engineering skills:
• Complex analytical query design/ Query optimization and performance troubleshooting/Execution plan analysis and tuning
• Strong experience on cloud platforms:
• AWS (preferred) or Azure

Hands-On Engineering Responsibilities Should be individual contributor

• Ingest and model large data (or large sample data) into Redshift /Redshift Spectrum
• Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines
• Reporting and Analytics Design to generate the reports with large data set

Performance, Cost & Governance

• Design and manage:
• Schemas, tables, views, materialized views
• Clustering strategies for large analytical workloads
• Configure and optimize virtual warehouses for performance and cost efficiency
• Optimize workloads using:
• Partitioning and pruning strategies/Caching mechanisms/Clustering and distribution keys
• Manage secure data sharing across environments and external partners

Nice-to-Have

• Hands-on experience with BI / Analytics tools:
• AWS Quick Sight / Power BI

Role Expectations Individual Contributor

• Own OLAP/OLTP database design, performance, and reliability end-to-end
• Operate independently on complex problems, proactively identify and resolve performance, scalability, reports, and analytics

9-12 years of experience in database engineering or data engineering roles, with a strong individual contributor track record
