Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a Playwright Automation Tester responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using Microsoft Playwright (Python) to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of web applications. The role involves working closely with developers, QA teams, and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality software through efficient automated testing and continuous integration practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Playwright for UI and end-to-end testing.
- Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test data based on product requirements and specifications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing as part of automation efforts.
Analyze test results and report defects with clear steps to reproduce using tools like JIRA or similar. - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) to support continuous delivery and rapid feedback loops.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product owners, QA) to identify test requirements and define test strategies.
- Debug test failures, troubleshoot issues, and improve test reliability and coverage.
- Maintain and improve existing test frameworks and contribute to QA best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in automation testing of web applications with hands-on Playwright expertise.
- Proficiency in python for scripting Playwright tests.
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr).
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and integrating automated tests into development pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skilla
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
- Familiarity with cross-browser testing, parallel execution, and test reporting tools.
- Knowledge of BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, Gherkin).
- Prior experience in mentoring or guiding junior testers.
