Java Developer @ Tata Consultancy

Job Description

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications
• Write clean, efficient, reusable, and welldocumented code
• Develop backend services using Core Java, J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot
• Implement business logic as per functional requirements
• Understand business and technical requirements
• Participate in system design and architecture discussions
• Convert requirements into technical specifications
• Follow objectoriented programming (OOP) principles
• Develop RESTful APIs / Microservices
• Integrate with databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Handle data persistence using Hibernate/JPA
• Integrate thirdparty services and APIs
• Write unit and integration tests (JUnit, Mockito)
• Debug and fix application defects
• Ensure application stability and performance
• Support UAT and production issues
• Optimize application performance and memory usage
• Implement security best practices (authentication, authorization)
• Handle exception management and logging
• Ensure compliance with coding standards
• Collaborate with UI/UX, DevOps, QA, and Product teams
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (standups, sprint planning)
• Provide code reviews and mentoring to junior developers
• Work with version control systems (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket)
