NGO Operations and Program ManagerRole & Responsibilities:
Devodhya Foundation is hiring an NGO Operations and Program Manager to manage day-to-day operations, documentation, CSR support, donor outreach, government scheme research, field coordination, reporting, social media coordination, and project execution support.
Devodhya Foundation works for rural development in Bihar with focus areas such as education, livelihood, women empowerment, health, sanitation, farmer support, youth support, SHG development, fisheries-based livelihood, micro-enterprise development, and social harmony.
This role is suitable for someone who wants real responsibility, not just a routine desk job. Devodhya Foundation is a lean, focused, and growing organization. We believe in using funds carefully, avoiding unnecessary spending, and putting maximum resources toward actual community work. The candidate should be comfortable working in an environment where priorities move fast, systems are still being improved, and ownership matters more than job title.
The person hired for this role will need to wear multiple hats. Documentation, follow-ups, field coordination, proposal preparation, government scheme research, donor communication, reporting, social media updates, and project execution support will all be part of the role.
We do not expect the candidate to know everything from day one. However, we do expect learning ability, discipline, regular updates, timely delivery, and the habit of completing work without repeated reminders.
Key responsibilities will include:
Manage daily NGO operations, task tracking, follow-ups, documentation, emails, meeting notes, project records, internal updates, and pending work trackers.
Prepare CSR proposals, donor notes, introductory emails, pitch documents, impact summaries, project reports, and follow-up trackers for companies, HNIs, CSR teams, foundations, and funding partners.
Research government schemes, NGO grants, CSR opportunities, RFPs, EOIs, PMMSY, fisheries department schemes, SHG livelihood schemes, women empowerment schemes, rural livelihood schemes, sanitation schemes, education programs, health programs, and other funding opportunities.
Support livelihood and micro-enterprise projects through SHGs, women groups, farmer groups, village-level entrepreneurs, and community-based institutions.
Support fisheries-based livelihood projects, including fish farming, fish vending, live fish supply chain, value chain development, beneficiary identification, subsidy documentation, vendor coordination, bank coordination, government department follow-ups, and field reporting.
Coordinate subsidy-linked project applications, including document collection, beneficiary records, quotations, DPR support, bank coordination, government department follow-ups, and scheme compliance.
Maintain records related to CSR-1, 12AB, 80G, NGO Darpan, Bihar CSR portal, project documents, board records, beneficiary details, vendor quotations, MoUs, letters, certificates, subsidy files, and other organizational documents.
Support planning and execution of projects in education, livelihood, rural development, women empowerment, health, sanitation, farmer support, fisheries, SHG development, micro-enterprise development, and community development.
Coordinate with local field volunteers, SHG members, beneficiaries, village representatives, vendors, panchayat-level contacts, bank officials, government department contacts, CSR partners, consultants, freelancers, auditors, implementation partners, and community members for project updates, photos, records, and implementation status.
Prepare reports, Excel trackers, beneficiary lists, expense summaries, monthly updates, project progress reports, donor updates, subsidy trackers, and CSR-ready documentation.
Coordinate content for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp updates, impact stories, project photos, campaign messages, and donor communication.
Work closely with the Founder and help convert discussions into completed work through proper follow-up, drafting, research, coordination, reminders, and structured tracking.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a dependable, honest, sincere, and practical person who can take ownership of work and help build proper systems.
The candidate should have strong written English and Hindi communication skills and should be able to draft emails, letters, proposals, reports, project updates, donor communication, and government department communication.
The candidate should know MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive, Gmail, internet research, basic presentation preparation, and report writing.
The candidate should be comfortable with calling, WhatsApp coordination, email follow-ups, field coordination, stakeholder follow-ups, documentation, reporting, and maintaining trackers.

Candidates with experience in fisheries livelihood, SHG-based enterprise, women-led livelihood models, government subsidy projects, rural micro-enterprises, or state fisheries schemes will be preferred.
The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, ask the right questions, learn quickly, give regular progress updates, and complete work within agreed timelines.
Work Environment:
This role is for someone who understands that a growing organization may not always have perfect processes or a separate team for every function.
There will be ambiguity. There will be urgent follow-ups. Government scheme information may not always be clear. Field coordination may require patience. Documentation gaps may need to be fixed. At times, the candidate will need to research, call people, prepare drafts, maintain trackers, follow up with stakeholders, and move the work forward without waiting for step-by-step instructions.
The mindset of I will do only this work or this is not my responsibility will not work in this role. In an ownership-led organization, every important work connected to the organizations goal is our work.
