JD:

Connect is a collection applications and microservices providing real-time omnichannel communication, recording, CRM, secure payment and other services for contact center clients. Candidate will be required to be on call after hours to support the operations team in the event of platform outages.

Mandate skills:

  1. Demonstrated experience with voice application engineering, and infrastructure support
    1. They need to have worked with SIP and or WebRTC communications platforms
    2. They need to be proficient with Server based infrastructure (Windows and Linux)
  2. Experience with Scripting in some way
    1. They need to be able to create scripts to execute changes to systems. This could be in the form of Python, Powershell, Ansible Puppet etc..
  3. Experience working with Systems in public Clouds (GCP or Azure)
  4. Not mandatory but Kubernetes Experience would be a really nice bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test and document Connect Platform components including; Genesys Omni-Channel solutions such as SIP Server, Universal Routing, Inbound Voice, Outbound Contact, Email, Chat, Social Media, Infomart, GVP, SMS, Speech Analytics, Proactive Notification, CallBack, etc.
  • Partner with application developers to optimize deployment strategies and systems design based on CI/CD standards
  • Research new technology and ensure Sutherland remains current with best practices and security guidelines
  • Mentor and train team members on deployment practices and platform management
  • Learn new technologies to assist in the evolution of the Connect platform with internally developed solutions as well as vendor partner solutions such as Cisco UCCE.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Sutherland applications to assist with troubleshooting and systems optimization, with feedback loops to other developers.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or 4 - 6 years progressive relevant experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience with voice application engineering, and infrastructure support
  • Demonstrated Proficiency with Genesys Engage or Cisco UCCE platform architecture and Application coding.
  • Foundational understanding of end-to-end architectures with modern micro-service based architectures.
  • Experience with the design, build, and instrumentation of highly-scalable and resilient Linux/Windows based applications.
  • Experience designing, implementing and managing complex GCP or Azure solutions.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code concepts and tooling including Terraform or Cloudformation
  • Knowledgeable about secure architecture, engineering and design principles
  • Desire to be hands-on with scripting languages such as Python, shell, Powershell, and Bash. As well as configuration management tools like Salt, Ansible or Chef.
  • Experience with Design, deployment and monitoring of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Desire to learn CI/CD pipelines like Azure DevOps and Jenkins
  • Hands-on experience with IaC tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
  • Interest in implementing and managing observability platforms and monitoring tools such as New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus that feed into solutions like ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) or Splunk.
  • Communications skills are a must, as the role involves effectively conveying insights to ensure clear understanding and alignment with both team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to lean into difficult conversations to resolve a situation and do what is right.
  • Understand the value of direct, transparent, respectful and kind feedback
  • History of fostering positive relationships across departments, enhancing teamwork and driving project objectives.
  • Dedication to act as primary incident management, on-call support with incident response procedures and tools such as Pager Duty and related best practices.
  • Willingness to understand the problem you are trying to solve before deciding on the solution, and you are thoughtful and methodical in its implementation.
