Job Description
Job Title: Senior Automation Engineer (Web & Mobile Specialist)
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer with 6-8 years of experience to own the execution of our automated testing suites. You will be the primary driver of our Playwright (Web) and Mobile (Appium/Maestro) automation, focusing on creating stable, repeatable, and fast test cycles.
Key Responsibilities (Implementation Focused)
- Framework Maintenance: Develop and extend existing automation suites using Playwright and Mobile tools Appium/Maestro/Katalon.
- Test Development: Create complex end-to-end test scripts for web applications (specifically Salesforce/Financial platforms) and native mobile apps.
- Execution & Triage: Own the daily execution of automation suites. Investigate failures, identify root causes (app bug vs. environment issue), and fix flaky tests.
- Data Management: Implement and manage test data strategies, including multi-environment support (.Dev, .QA, .Staging).
- CI/CD Integration: Exposure to configuring and managing test triggers within the CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) to ensure automated feedback on every PR.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Total Experience: 46 years in Software Testing/Automation.
- Playwright Core (2+ Years): Good knowledge of Playwright features: Trace Viewer, Codegen, Network Interception, and handling complex UI elements (iFrames/Shadow DOM).
- Mobile Automation (Appium): Knowledge of setting up and running tests on real devices and emulators/simulators using Appium.
- Programming: Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JS or Java.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with UK Banking Savings/Mortgage
- Maestro Mobile Automation
- Ability to write and optimize Maestro YAML Flows for iOS and Android.
- Experience using Maestro Studio to quickly identify elements and troubleshoot flow failures.
- Understanding of how to use Subflows to create a modular, reusable mobile test suite
