Job Title: Vice President - Project Manager and Technical Head for Cement Industry


Job Summary:


The Vice President - Project Manager and Technical Head will oversee all aspects of project management and technical operations within the cement industry. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in project execution, technical expertise, and the ability to drive innovation and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Project Management:
    • Lead and manage large-scale projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
    • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide technical guidance and support for all projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize processes and improve product quality.
    • Stay updated on technological advancements and best practices in the cement industry.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Contribute to the development of the companys strategic goals and objectives.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing project management and technical team.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project success.
    • Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of [15+] years of experience in project management within the cement or construction industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of cement production processes and technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Maintenance Management:
    • Plan and execute predictive and preventive maintenance schedules to increase machine uptime (MTBF) by 20% and reduce downtime (MTTR) by 10%.
    • Identify and rectify areas of constraint, breakdowns, and repetitive failures in equipment.
  • Project Management:
    • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for projects, including feasibility studies and safety assessments.
    • Manage on-site activities, leading and motivating technical teams and workforce to ensure project success.
  • Production Oversight:
    • Oversee the production and dispatch of PPC, Composite, and Slag Cement, ensuring optimal costs and adherence to quality standards.
    • Ensure plant reliability and optimal utilization of equipment, developing systems for safe operations and compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Engineering and Compliance:
    • Review engineering drawings and technical specifications for installation and commissioning.
    • Standardize and optimize production, quality, and maintenance practices while controlling costs.
  • Project Execution:
    • Lead the Calciner & PH Modification Project, overseeing major upgrades to enhance clinker production and manage complex structural executions.
    • Drive pyro and grinding expansion projects, upgrading systems to improve operational stability and increase production capacity.
  • Sustainability Initiatives:
    • Implement AFR processing and mechanized solid AFR feeding systems, achieving up to 25% TSR capability.
    • Lead solar and wind integration projects to promote sustainability within operations.
  • Cost Reduction and AI Adoption:
    • Identify opportunities for variable cost reductions through technical audits, equipment benchmarking, and modernization initiatives.
    • Assess upgrade feasibility and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of [15+] years of experience in project management within the cement or construction industry.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale projects and enhancing operational efficiencies.
  • Strong analytical skills, relationship management, and team-building capabilities.
