Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced engineering professional with deep expertise in Computer Vision and Machine Learning (CVML) on embedded systems to provide technical leadership in the design, development, and deployment of advanced automated manufacturing solutions. This role focuses on driving intelligent automation, reducing variability, and enabling scalable, efficient production systems through AI-driven technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in designing, developing, and deploying CVML-based automation solutions on embedded platforms to enhance operational performance across multiple projects.
  • Architect and implement real-time computer vision systems for inspection, monitoring, and process control using embedded hardware.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide engineers, technicians, and operators across different levels in CVML and embedded system development.
  • Research and implement advanced manufacturing technologies, including AI/ML-driven automation and edge computing solutions, to improve digital monitoring and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and execute strategic process improvements leveraging intelligent automation.
  • Support capital equipment acquisition including requirement definition, vendor selection, contract negotiation, installation, commissioning, and validation.
  • Champion automation excellence, particularly in AI-powered vision systems and embedded intelligence, across the organization.
  • Benchmark CVML and embedded automation technologies across global manufacturing networks.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve process, product, and equipment-related challenges using data-driven insights.
  • Support new product and process introduction aligned with structured development processes, integrating CVML solutions.
  • Lead and execute process validations (VP, IQ, OQ, PQ) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform Gauge R&R studies, process capability analysis, and process characterization.
  • Lead value-stream and cross-functional projects including planning, budgeting, execution, and operational handover.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and engineering best practices.
  • Drive creation and review of engineering documentation such as design history files, validation reports, and technical documentation.
  • Mentor team members on design controls, risk management, and quality system requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Embedded Systems, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field).
  • 1215 years of relevant experience in industrial automation, embedded systems, and CVML-based solution development.
  • Proven experience developing and deploying computer vision and machine learning models on embedded platforms.
  • Strong programming expertise in Python and/or C++, with experience in performance optimization for embedded environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong expertise in embedded system design integrating CVML models, including edge devices and hardware accelerators.
  • Hands-on experience with computer vision frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch).
  • Experience with real-time image processing, object detection, classification, and anomaly detection systems.
  • Solid understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Experience with industrial automation systems including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with process validation and statistical tools such as PFMEA and SPC.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., DMAIC).
  • Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, sensors, robotics, and machine vision systems integrated with AI/ML capabilities.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams.
