Job Title
Accountant, Central Accounting
What will you do
Month-End Close Financial Accounting
- Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in accordance with defined close calendars.
- Prepare, manual and recurring journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution of open items.
- Support accruals, provisions, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany accounting.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, SOX/internal controls, and documentation standards.
- Assist in preparation of management reporting schedules and flux analysis.
- Prepare and provide audit schedules, supporting documents, confirmations, and explanations.
- Respond to audit queries, ensure timely closure of audit observations, and support audit adjustments.
- Assist in preparation of statutory financial statements and disclosures as required.
- Support compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS / IFRS / US GAAP, as applicable).
What will you need to have
- 36 years of relevant experience in:
- Month-end close and general accounting
- Statutory audit coordination
- Corporate accounting or shared services environment
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Technical Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of financial accounting and balance sheet mechanics
- Practical knowledge of statutory audit requirements and audit documentation
- Hands-on experience with Journal entries and reconciliations
- Accruals, provisions, and variance analysis
- Working knowledge of Ind AS / IFRS / US GAAP (depending on entity)
- Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation models)
- Familiarity with internal controls and audit processes
