Greetings from Legacy Med Pvt LtdWe are the leading Revenue Cycle Management CompanyWe are hiring for a Payment Posting Executive & Charge Entry Executive for the Chennai Location.
Roles & Responsibilities
Charge Entry Duties:
- Data Translation: Review patient encounter documents (superbills, operative reports, and medical records) to verify that the services rendered match appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS).
- Data Entry: Accurately input patient demographics, insurance policy details, and charge amounts into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Practice Management system.
- Verification & Reconciliation: Ensure all charges are captured to prevent lost revenue, check for coding modifiers, and balance daily batches against source documents.
Payment Posting Duties:
- EOB/ERA Processing: Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs) from insurance companies.
- Payment Application: Accurately post insurance payments, patient deductibles, copayments, and contractual write-offs to individual patient accounts.
- Denial Recording: Identify and log denied or partially paid claims, transferring remaining balances to the Accounts Receivable (AR) or denial management team for appeal.
Preferred candidates:
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with medical billing and EHR software (e.g., Epic, NextGen, Kareo, IDX).
- Medical Coding Knowledge: Familiarity with standard medical coding systems.
- Analytical Abilities: High mathematical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to detect variances in large datasets.
- Industry Understanding: Solid grasp of the US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process, including Medicare/Medicaid and private payer guidelines.
- Certifications: While not always mandatory, credentials such as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from the AAPC or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
