What you will do
- In this role, you will be part of product development team to manage deliver new product functionalities, modify existing product s functionalities or improve product functionalities as required.
- The Product owner will provide technical guidance to the engineering team by interfacing with Product Management/stakeholders to ensure understanding of the overall product features/system vision and provide interpretation to understand specify market functional requirements for current and future products.
- You will work within a multi-disciplined engineering team consisting of electronics engineers, mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, software engineers, programmers and scientists focusing on applied research and new technology innovations to provide new and improved products and solutions for our customers.
How you will do it
- Build competitive intelligence and benchmarking
Interfaces with Product Management to ensure understanding of the overall product features/system vision. - Interface with other functions , Product management for the competitive products study and benchmarking.
- Develop deep understanding of functional and non-functional business functional requirements.
- Build software/Product functional specification , requirement specifications document including navigational prototype.
- Collaboration with Technical Lead and Technical Architect to validate solution design vis- -vis business requirements.
- Provide guidance to QA team for developing use cases, test plan and test cases and during test execution as per various compliance requirement
- Preparation of user guide and other project collateral.
- Liaise with HW, Verification and Validation in the development of quality review of product under development.
- Liaise with other functional manager -HW, VV, Design office and program managers.
- Participates in the evaluation of hardware and software compatibility recommending program specifications.
- Prioritizing teams backlog and ensure it aligns with program portfolio and adds business value.Sets and validates the acceptance criteria for all engineering work.
- Grooming the user stories along with the scrum team and answering any queries related to the business requirement.
- Mentoring and leading team of product application engineers
Closely works with approvals/regulatory engineers and approval bodies like BRE, VDS, IMQ ,UL for product qualification procedures. - Recommends program refinements and changes to better achieve desired functionality and/or enhance program capabilities. Counsels designers in the use of various design tools.
- Make recommendations regarding verification and validation procedures and processes to improve the quality of the team(s) and Software group.

Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability. - Familiar with understands all Fire building codes, NFPA and compliance standards.Panel installation and commissioning experience.
- Must have experience in managing and working with distributed team members.Knowledge of internet and e-business processes, disciplines and standards.Must be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication
Specialized Skills:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, problem solving and presentation skills
Thorough knowledge of the software development area. - Able to work independently or in a team environment
Able to take ownership and work on project timelines - Self-motivated, takes initiative to resolve issues
- Ability to problem solve through analysis of a situation where there are a variety of variables
- Strong business acumen, coaching and mentoring skills
- Knowledge of Fire Detection Systems or similar systems
- Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate a highly skilled technical team
Preferred
- BE (ECE/EIE/ETC/CSE) Degree in a technical field is required.
- 5 -10 experience years as product owner/product quality assurance / Installation / commissioning of Fire Alarm panels
