Job Description

Strong proficiency in MySQL/PostgreSQL database management
1-2 years experience with recent versions of MySQL and PostgresSQL.
Understanding of MySQLs underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM ,etc.
In depth knowledge and proficiency with MySQL and PostgresSQL replication.
Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL and PostgresSQL.
Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
Knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL features, such as its event scheduler
Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git or TFS.
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options within MySQL and PostgresSQL.
Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
Excellent written and verbal communication
Flexible, team player, get-it-done personality
Ability to organize and plan work independently
Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams
