Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

We are looking for a skilled Subtitler / Subtitle QC Specialist with a strong command of English and a

keen eye for linguistic and technical accuracy. The role involves performing quality checks on

international content including web series, TV shows, and movies across various genres

ensuring subtitles meet both linguistic and technical standards per client specifications.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with subtitle creation and conformance

workflows, QC processes, and file output generation across multiple formats.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform linguistic and technical quality checks on subtitle files for English and foreign-language

content.

Review and ensure subtitles meet client specifications and industry standards (timing, sync,

reading speed, segmentation, formatting, and placement).

Conduct conformance checks against master video and audio to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Generate and deliver final subtitle outputs in multiple file formats such as TTML, CAP, PAC, SCC,

XML, etc.

Troubleshoot and correct errors related to timing, formatting, encoding, and line breaks.
Maintain and follow internal QC workflows, documentation, and version control.

Required Skills & Experience:

Excellent command of English language (both written and spoken).
Strong understanding of international film and TV content and sensitivity to cultural and

contextual nuances.

13 years of experience in subtitling, captioning, or localization QC roles.

Working knowledge of any of the following tools:
OOONA
EZTitles
Aegisub
Subtitle Edit

Sound understanding of technical subtitling workflows, file formats, and encoding standards.
Familiarity with subtitle output formats: TTML, CAP, PAC, SCC, XML, etc.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with OTT platform subtitle delivery requirements (e.g., Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, Apple

TV+).
