- Hi All, Currently, we are hiring a strong design professionals for one of our Automotive customer. Please find the below job description for your reference. Position Hiring for : Closures_Design & Development Qualification : B.E. / B. Tech. / M. E / M. Tech Mechanical / Automotive / Electrical Engineering Location : Chennai & Pune Notice : Looking for early joiners Experience : 5 - 15 Years Primary Skills Design, Body Electro Mechanical, Door Handles, Window regulators, Glasses, Closure, Doors, Hood, LiftGate, Door Hardware, Door Modules. Responsibilities Qualifications, Experience and Competency Requirements: Education: B.E. / B. Tech. / M. E / M. Tech Mechanical / Automotive / Electrical engineering. Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant experience. Minimum of two years of experience in Closure related systems design and application. CAD design experience - NX Preferred Qualifications: Design and release experience in Body Closures Engineering. Experience in NX in a production release environment Experience in Team Center Strong Program management skills with a goal/target minded discipline Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong English speaking skills Team oriented, self-starter with demonstrated problem solving skills Manufacturing or launch experience Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green / Black Belt Knowledge of materials and processes specific to closures and removable roof systems Scope (Standard tasks): Concept Design and Feasibility studies of Hoods, Fenders, Liftgates, Tailgates, Side Doors, Hardware, and Sealing Systems, Door Modules, Manual Tops. The Product Design Engineer will be responsible for the Engineering, Design, Development, Timing and Production release of body closure sealing systems, sheet metal, hardware, door modules, or manual tops, to meet vehicle and component functional objectives. Early design development prior to supplier award & onboarding. Other responsibilities will include managing supplier (internal/external) development activities, weight and cost reduction opportunities, development and validation of assigned components. This role involves the use of predictive tools during design phase and communicating technical product status and competitor benchmarking to management. Continued design development for internally supplied components and assemblies. Design practice/EDP checks and TeamCenter Step Release for Steps C,2,3 and 5. Support resolution & design updates of vehicle packaging, logbook and manufacturing feasibility issues.
