In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for optimizing shopfloor operations through data-driven strategies. The incumbent will lead a team to drive operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability within the merchandise business. This role demands a seasoned professional with strong analytical skills, operational expertise, and leadership abilities to achieve revenue and growth targets specific to the retail industry. Responsibilities Develop and implement data-driven strategies for shopfloor operations aligned with company goals, market trends, and customer preferences within the CPG merchandise business. Oversee the execution of shop floor operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards, brand image, and customer demands while optimizing operational efficiency. Utilize data analytics, market trends, and consumer behavior insights to refine shopfloor processes, enhance customer experiences, and drive operational excellence in the CPG retail sector. Implement technology solutions and systems to optimize shopfloor operations, including inventory management, staffing, and customer engagement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as supply chain, sales, marketing, and merchandising to align shopfloor operations with broader business objectives. Manage and mentor a team of shopfloor operations professionals, providing guidance, setting performance goals, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Conduct in-depth analysis of shopfloor performance metrics, including traffic patterns, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction, to drive continuous improvement. Stay updated on industry trends and monitor competitor activities to make informed decisions about shopfloor operations within the CPG retail sector. Gather and analyze customer feedback and behavior data from shopfloor interactions to make data-driven decisions about process enhancements and customer service improvements. Ensure optimal inventory levels, minimizing excess or obsolete inventory while maintaining appropriate stock levels for CPG merchandise. Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers, negotiating terms, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of shopfloor resources. Provide regular reports and analysis on shop floor operations" performance, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments as needed. Qualifications we seek in you! Minimum Qualifications / Skills A bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations Management, Retail Management, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in Operations or Analytics are preferred. Relevant years of progressive experience in shopfloor operations and retail management within the CPG industry, with relevant years in a leadership role. Proven track record of leading and managing teams in shopfloor operations, including setting strategic direction, overseeing execution, and driving results. Extensive experience in developing and implementing data-driven strategies to optimize shopfloor operations, considering factors like customer behavior, process efficiency, and competitive dynamics in the CPG retail sector. Ability to think strategically in developing and executing long-term shopfloor operations strategies aligned with overall business objectives specific to the CPG retail industry. Strong leadership skills for guiding and managing a team, setting clear performance goals, providing mentorship, and fostering a collaborative work environment in the context of shopfloor operations. Preferred Qualifications/ Skills Proficiency in data analysis for interpreting complex operational data, trend analysis, and customer behavior insights specific to shopfloor operations within the CPG merchandise business. Solid understanding of financial metrics, budgeting, and profitability analysis in the context of shopfloor operations. This includes managing budgets and driving operational efficiency. Proficiency in specialized operations and analytics software used for shopfloor optimization, inventory management, and customer engagement in the CPG retail sector. Experience with analytics platforms like Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or similar software for in-depth data analysis and informed decision-making for shop floor operations. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) used for managing business processes, including inventory management and financials, integrated with shopfloor operations.
