We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Optical Engineer with a strong background in optics and automotive lighting systems to join our dynamic team in Pune, India. This role requires a deep understanding of optical principles, lighting regulations, and proficiency in various optical design software. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop advanced optical systems for automotive lighting, focusing on innovation and efficiency. Apply strong fundamentals in optics to solve complex lighting challenges, ensuring products meet or exceed industry standards and regulations. Utilize various optical concepts such as reflectors, collimators, light guides, and diffusers to optimize lighting performance. Conduct optical simulations and analyses using software tools like SPEOS, LucidShape, Lighttools, TracePro, Expose, Helios to validate and refine designs. Collaborate closely with the engineering team to integrate optical designs with mechanical and electrical components, ensuring seamless functionality. Stay abreast of lighting regulations and standards, ensuring all designs comply with national and international requirements. Work with CATIA for 3D modeling and design integration, showcasing strong proficiency in handling complex geometries and assemblies. Develop AI-assisted optical design workflows to enhance design automation and optimization. Lead the optical component selection process, evaluating and choosing the best materials and technologies for each application. Support the prototype development process, from concept through to testing and validation. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure project goals are met within timelines and budgets. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. A Masters degree or higher is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in optical design for automotive lighting or related industries. Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of optics, including understanding of various optical components and systems. Expertise in optical design software (SPEOS, LucidShape, Lighttools, TracePro, Expose, Helios). Proficient in CATIA for 3D modeling and design. Familiarity with automotive lighting regulations and standards. Experience with AI-assisted design and integration of AI-driven optimization workflows is a plus. Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C++ for custom optical simulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead projects. Detail-oriented with a passion for innovation and quality.
