- Position Description Position Title Product Development Officer Function R&D Location Bidadi, Bangalore Key Stakeholders Internal: PD Officers, PD Managers, Lab Officers, Lab Managers, Packaging Managers, Packaging Officers and Marketing Team External: Business Partners, Vendors, Ingredient Suppliers etc. Key Job Responsibilities Candidate will be expected to manage the product development at the pilot scale and manage the pilot plant operations individually Responsibilities of role require acquiring in depth knowledge of bakery ingredients, their selection criteria and role. He should know critical properties of ingredient and their impact on mixing, baking and keeping quality of product. It is expected that he has knowledge of storage condition, storage implications and basic quality control of materials. Knowledge of bakery process like mixing, baking, packing etc. is a must and will work hands own with the ingredients in developing recipes. Person should be willing to experiment and exhibit lateral thinking. Should be having an external outlook and an eye on market place for new launches in segment and other food segments. In his role he/she collects competition products, defines right characteristics for analysis, works closely with lab, develops prototype and defines packaging requirement. Regularly interacts with marketing and takes consumer insights by actively participating in consumer researches, take useful information and assist his superior. He/She may be assigned to undertake product development efforts encompassing New Products, Quality and Nutritional enhancements as well as Productivity improvements independently and with the Cross-functional Teams to deliver Company Objectives. Vendor development and monitoring, Tuning of recipe as per market needs, provide support for technical enquiries and processes, new product introductions etc. Desired competencies Knowledge of Food Ingredients, Food Recipes, Bakery Ingredients, Baking Science and Technology, Bakery and Snack Products, Storage Stability of Food Products, Food Product Analysis, Food Products Nutrition, product development, pilot plant and factory operations in food industry etc. Educational Qualification Graduation/Post Graduation Experience 2 - 5 years of experience in Food processing Industries, preferably bakery and related fields,
