Job Description
Job Summary:
The Linux and DevOps Manager responsibilities include leading a team of engineers to architect and develop automated solutions, manage system upgrades, and ensure that all systems are working optimally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining Linux infrastructure
- Developing and implementing IT projects and infrastructures
- Designing and maintaining cloud-based applications
- Overseeing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) and DevOps architecture
- Implementing automation and orchestration of tools and processes to minimize delivery time and increase efficiency
- Managing a team of engineers and developers, fostering a collaborative work environment
- Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
- Communicating and working closely with customers for solving their requirements
- Collaborating with team members to improve system consistency, stability, and efficiency
- Conducting technical reviews and audits
- Maintaining communication with relevant departments to ensure software development projects are aligned with company goals
- Implementing industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management
Required Skills:
- Experience with different Linux distributions
- Experience with different applications like apache, tomcat and email systems
- Experience with different relational and non-relational databases
- Containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, LXC, Rocket)
- Proven work experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Chef or similar tools.
- Understanding of cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl.
- Experience with network infrastructure, database, and application services.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex systems.
- Familiarity with a wide range of systems engineering tools, including source code repository hubs, continuous integration services, issue tracking, test automation, deployment automation, development team collaboration, project management
- Minimum 5 years operations and deployment (development, automation and support experience)
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a technical leader with a proven record of innovating solutions for a team of atleast 5 engineers
Nice to Have:
- Certifications in AWS or Azure or GCP
