Job Description
- As a Community Dentist or Community Physician at Sri Shankara National Centre for Cancer Prevention and Research (SSNCCPR), you will play a vital role in providing cancer awareness and screening services to the public. The organization's primary objective is to reduce the incidence of and mortality due to cancer through scientific approaches, focusing on establishing a comprehensive knowledge base in oncology. In this role, you will be required to hold specific qualifications - BDS/MDS (Public Health Dentistry) for Community Dentists and MBBS or MD Community Medicine for Community Physicians. The ideal candidate should have 0-2 years of experience and must be fluent in spoken English and either Kannada or Telugu. Community Doctors (CDs) will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including clinical psychologists and nurses, to conduct cancer awareness and screening camps in the Chintamani and Gauribidanuru taluks. Special training will be provided to perform oral, breast, and cervical cancer screenings as per standardized procedures aligned with international guidelines. Additionally, CDs will be expected to deliver therapeutic interventions for the management of pre-cancers. As part of this longitudinal interventional program, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various research studies aligned with the institution's interests. The role also involves collaborating with renowned institutions such as the Institute of Cancer Research UK, Maastricht University, and University of Nottingham to advance cutting-edge research in the field of oncology. Key responsibilities include delivering cancer awareness lectures, performing cancer screenings, documenting procedures, preparing educational materials, and conducting relevant research studies under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.
