Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer @ Placement Whizzles

Job Description

As a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute both exploratory and automated tests to ensure the quality of the product. Your role will involve reviewing requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide valuable feedback in a timely manner. You will create detailed and well-structured test plans and test cases, and estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities. Additionally, you will design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open source tools and perform comprehensive regression testing when bugs are resolved. It will also be your responsibility to develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs, as well as to consult with internal resources to clarify specifications. Staying up-to-date with new testing tools and strategies is essential for this role. You may also be required to take on other duties as assigned by the IT director. To excel in this role, you should have proven work experience in software development and software quality assurance. A strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes is crucial, along with experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases. Proficiency in SQL and scripting is desirable. A BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject is preferred. You should be capable of working both independently and within small teams, contributing to all phases of development from design through maintenance. Effective communication skills will be essential in this role.,
