Job Description
- We are seeking a Big Data / Cloud Architect to join Atgeir's Advanced Data Analytics team. As a Professional with a strong background in Big Data and Cloud Platforms, you will work closely with customers to understand their requirements and translate them into architectural models that operate at a large scale and high performance. You will provide guidance to customers on running these architectural models on both traditional Data Platforms (Hadoop Based) and Modern Data Platforms (Cloud Based). Your responsibilities will include collaborating with customers to develop data management platforms utilizing Open Source Technologies and Cloud Native services. You will extract best-practice knowledge, reference architectures, and patterns from these engagements to share with the Advanced Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) team at Atgeir. To be successful in this role, you should have at least 10 years of experience in ETL and analytics systems development and deployment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to effectively collaborate across internal and external organizations as well as virtual teams. You must possess the capability to comprehend complex business requirements and quickly translate them into prototype systems. Experience in implementation and tuning within the Big Data Ecosystem (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Presto, Hive), Databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server), and Data Warehouses (e.g., Redshift, Teradata) is required. Familiarity with foundational infrastructure requirements such as Networking, Storage, and Hardware Optimization is necessary, along with hands-on experience in at least one of the cloud platforms (GCP / Azure / AWS) and/or data cloud platforms (Databricks / Snowflake). You should have proven hands-on experience with a programming language such as Python, Java, Go, or Scala. A willingness to work hands-on on projects, lead large teams, and guide them effectively is crucial. Possessing an Architect level certification on one of the cloud platforms would be considered an advantage for this role.,
