Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Interoperability SME with deep expertise in clinical and claims data modelsincluding FHIR, HL7, CCDA, and EDI (835/837/270/271)alongside strong hands-on experience in Python and Apache Spark. This role will lead the design and development of an enterprise-grade data platform, with a focus on building scalable, high-quality patient encounter data solutions in FHIR format. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in healthcare interoperability standards, data quality frameworks, and enterprise data architecture, and will play a strategic role in shaping the platforms MVP and long-term roadmap
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of clinical data models (CCDA, HL7, FHIR), Claims (EDI- 835, 837,270, 271) focusing on Patient Encounter Data in FHIR format.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build an Enterprise Data Platform that supports both project-specific and organizational data needs.
- Define and implement data cleansing, standardization, and data quality rules to ensure high-quality, reliable datasets.
- Develop and maintain interoperability architecture documentation, data flow diagrams, and integration specifications.
- Conduct gap analysis and recommend improvements for existing interoperability frameworks.
- Provide strategic guidance on FHIR implementation and integration with existing systems.
- Support MVP development and ensure scalability for future phases.
- Act as a thought leader and SME for FHIR and clinical data across the organization.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a FHIR SME in healthcare data projects.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows, patient encounter data, and healthcare interoperability standards.
- Hands-on experience with FHIR resource modeling, profiling, and validation.
- Expertise in data quality management, including cleansing, standardization, and rule-based validation.
- Proficiency in working with JSON, XML, and SQL for data transformation and integration.
- Familiarity with integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf).
- Experience in building or contributing to enterprise data platforms.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Certifications in HL7, FHIR, or Health Informatics.
- Experience with health data standards and terminology tools (e.g., SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm, UMLS, VSAC) in Health IT systems.
- Background in data governance and metadata management.
Must Have skill: Spark + Python + EDI (837/835), HL7/CCDA, or FHIR bundles
