Job Description

    As a Clinical Care professional, you will be responsible for diagnosing and managing a wide range of ophthalmic conditions, which include both medical and surgical disorders. You will have the opportunity to perform various surgical procedures such as cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, retinal procedures, and oculoplastic interventions. Your role will involve providing outpatient consultations as well as inpatient care. Additionally, you will be interpreting diagnostic tests such as OCT, fluorescein angiography, and visual fields to provide accurate assessments. In terms of Leadership & Supervision, you will play a crucial role in leading and supervising junior doctors, optometrists, orthoptists, and nursing staff. It will be your responsibility to ensure high standards of clinical care and patient safety within the healthcare facility. You will actively participate in clinical governance activities, including audits, morbidity & mortality meetings, and case reviews to maintain quality healthcare delivery. As part of Training & Education, you will have the opportunity to teach and mentor medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals. You will also be involved in organizing and delivering Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions to facilitate continuous learning and development within the field. Moreover, you will contribute to Research & Development activities by participating in or leading clinical research activities and trials. You will be expected to publish your research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present them at conferences to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field. Your role will also involve fulfilling Administrative Duties, where you will contribute to the development of clinical protocols and policies. Attending departmental meetings and engaging in strategic planning will be essential to ensure the effective functioning of the healthcare facility. This part-time position requires a commitment of 18 hours per week during the evening shift. The work location will be in person, providing you with the opportunity to deliver high-quality clinical care and make a meaningful impact in the field of ophthalmology.,
