Job Description

Role & responsibilities


Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Technical Support:
    • Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to L1 and L2 Storage Engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the team's efficiency.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for technical escalations, providing expert-level support for storage-related issues.
  • Incident and Problem Management:
    • Manage and resolve escalated storage incidents, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and minimize impact on business operations.
    • Provide on-call assistance to ensure continuous support and swift resolution of critical issues outside of regular business hours.
  • Project & Operations Management:
    • Oversee storage migrations from End-of-Life (EOSL) devices to new storage arrays, ensuring data integrity, minimal downtime, and efficient transfer.
    • Plan and execute storage array and SAN switch firmware upgrades, ensuring system stability, optimal performance, and enhanced security.
    • Lead the planning and execution of Storage Disaster Recovery (DR) Tests, ensuring a smooth transition and operational readiness for the Storage Operations Team.
  • Vendor Management & Proactive Maintenance:
    • Conduct regular meetings with storage vendors to address potential product issues, discuss roadmaps, and ensure proactive problem resolution.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all storage configurations, procedures, and incidents.
    • Prepare and present reports on storage performance, capacity, and incident trends to senior management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Extensive experience as an L3 or Senior Storage Engineer, with a proven track record of managing and resolving complex storage issues.
  • Strong experience with a variety of storage technologies (both SAN& NAS) and vendors - Primary :NetApp, Additional: Dell_EMC
  • Expertise in SAN fabric management - Cisco MDS
  • Solid understanding of storage concepts, including RAID levels, deduplication, compression, and replication.
  • Proven experience in leading a technical team and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
