Job Description
- As a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Specialist within the global purchasing organization of Siemens Energy Industrial Turbomachinery India Private Limited, your primary responsibility will be to independently conduct NDT on components for gas and steam turbines, both at suppliers" premises and with the help of the supplier. You will be accountable for performing inspections in compliance with specifications, as well as reviewing technical and formal documentation. In the event of deviations from supplier results, you will need to clearly describe these deviations in technical terms, communicate them effectively, and collaborate with the cross-departmental team to determine appropriate corrective actions. To excel in this role, you should possess at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in NDT of cast components and large steel fabrication. Your educational background should ideally be in mechanical engineering or a related field. Certification to ISO9712 or equivalent in Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) at Level II or higher is a prerequisite. Proficiency in quality methodologies such as 5 Why, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), 8D, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is essential. Effective collaboration and communication skills are crucial, along with proficiency in MS Office applications and SAP. A proactive and flexible approach, along with a high level of initiative and precision in your work, are key attributes for success in this role. Your ability to work constructively across all levels of a global organization, coupled with fluency in English and a willingness to travel nationally and internationally, will enable you to make a significant impact.
