Job Description
- As a Senior Accountant at Toast, you will be reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager and providing support to the Global CAO organization. Your primary responsibilities will involve supporting the SEC Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting team in preparing external SEC filings. This includes tasks such as coordinating and participating in the drafting of footnote disclosures, reviewing XBRL information, and preparing GAAP and SEC Disclosure Checklists to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC Regulation. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing reporting calendars related to SEC Reporting on Form 10-K/10-Q, assisting in technical accounting research, and identifying continuous improvements to processes and controls related to SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting. You will also play a key role in complying with SOX 404 control framework, internal/external audits, and maintaining strong internal control policies and procedures. To be successful in this role, you should have at least 4 years of relevant external financial reporting experience, preferably with a combination of public accounting and public company industry experience. A Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance is required, along with demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Your strong communication skills, attention to detail, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets will be essential. Experience with Wdesk (Workiva), cloud-based ERP/financial systems, and CPA certification are considered advantageous.
