Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Understanding Vehicle color material definitions from Global Design Office.
- Mastering - Evaluate and qualify regional supplier color submissions for commodities like Fabric, Vinyl, Leather, Plastic, Paints, Plastic, Decorative finishes and Textures.
- Pre-texture / Post texture reviews for injection molded parts (exposure with Tooling activities and production process is desirable)
- Texture Mark up on physical parts
- Color and Gloss reviews on Interior and Exterior Parts.
- Conducting Vehicle Interior Harmony reviews as per standards
- Exterior harmony reviews for Body color and hang on parts.
- Create and Maintain Appearance Definition documents.
- Ensure the progress and KPIs for AAR approvals.
- Report the AAR development status.
- Support vehicle programs for material development for body, interior, chassis and powertrain parts
- Define and select materials for applications/parts and create a validation plan
- Follow-up with supplier and support suppliers to complete material approval process and industrialization within project timeline
- Maintain material libraries and databases
- Support coordination & validation of local material (Plastic, Elastomer, Soft / Textile materials, Chrome, Paints etc.,) to global standard for product development.
- Participate to the development of local integration by auditing and validating materials suppliers
- Extend support in plant for any material development or failure analysis, visit to plant as and when required for co-ordination and support
- Know-how on Benchmarking in India
Preferred candidate profile
Essential:
- 8 to10 years of experience in relevant industry & department
- Good knowledge especially in plastics, rubbers, textiles, plating and painting
- Automotive color material & Finish exposure.
- Eyesight to pass Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color Vision Test
- Knowledge of material grades & basics about their compositions
- Good contacts with Tier I and raw material suppliers
- Excellent MS Power Point (presentation) skills
- Good communication skills, inter-cultural communications with global teams
- Organized, autonomous to set priorities & being pro-active
- Result driven, quick to act
- Good interpersonal skills, able to adapt, & work in CFT
- Willingness to learn foreign languages
