Job Description
Position: PACS Support Specialist
Experience: 5+ years
Location: Bangalore/ Hyderabad/ Chennai
Primary Skills: PACS, HL7
Job Summary:
Provide frontline and advanced application support for the enterprise Infinitt PACS and related imaging ecosystem. Responsibilities include incident triage, user enablement, basic configuration changes, workflow troubleshooting, monitoring DICOM/HL7 message flows, and coordinating with administrators, radiology staff, networking/storage teams, and vendors to ensure high availability and timely image/result delivery.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first/secondline PACS support contact, own incident triage, prioritization, and resolution within SLAs
- Support radiologists and technologists: viewer issues, hanging protocols, study reconciliation, and worklist problems
- Monitor DICOM and HL7 message flows; identify and escalate interface errors; coordinate with integration teams for fixes
- Perform routine configuration tasks (AE changes, routing table updates, user/role updates) under change control
- Onboard modalities and sites in collaboration with admins: connectivity checks, test images, and acceptance scripts
- Coordinate planned maintenance, patches, and minor upgrades; validate postchange functionality
- Maintain knowledge base, SOPs, and runbooks; deliver user training and golive floor support
- Track capacity/performance symptoms and raise risks; assist in rootcause analysis and preventive actions
- Ensure compliance with security and privacy policies, support audits and periodic access reviews
- Liaise with vendors for ticket escalation; provide detailed diagnostics and follow through to closure
- Act as primary support contact for Infinitt PACS platform, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and coordination with vendor as needed.
Skills (Must Have):
- Solid understanding of DICOM basics (AE Titles, CSTORE/CFIND/CMOVE, Modality Worklist/MPPS), study routing, and priors prefetch
- Handson PACS user and site support: account provisioning, roles/permissions, hanging protocol preferences, worklist issues
- HL7 v2.x awareness (ADT/ORM/ORU) and ability to monitor interface queues and resolve common mapping/format issues with guidance
- Strong troubleshooting across endpoints (modality, workstation, viewer), networks, and storage; reading logs and DICOM traces
- Experience with ticketing/ITSM, incident & problem management, and clear stakeholder communication
- Knowledge of PHI handling, access controls, and audit trail practices (HIPAA/security awareness)
- Ability to create user guides, SOPs, and provide enduser training and golive support
- Hands-on experience providing support for Infinitt PACS, including user issues, configuration, and workflow troubleshooting.
