Job Description
- As a part of the emerging and growing IoT Platform team at Motive, you will play a crucial role in connecting devices to the cloud platform efficiently and securely. Working closely with experienced Motive engineers, you will contribute to building new services and improving existing ones. Your responsibilities will include implementing Microservices or Serverless functions in AWS Lambda, building data models and APIs for device management, constructing message pipelines for data transfer, and enhancing cloud security for IoT devices and infrastructure. **Key Responsibilities:** - Implementing Microservices or Serverless functions in AWS Lambda to empower IoT devices and manage their data effectively - Developing data models and APIs to support the maintenance of our device fleet - Constructing message pipelines to facilitate the efficient and scalable exchange of data with our devices - Enhancing the security of our IoT devices and cloud infrastructure **Qualifications:** - 7+ years of experience in developing software products and services within a team environment, utilizing source control, build management, and automated deployment practices - Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field - Strong affinity for creating extensible, performant, and readable software - Proficiency in programming languages such as Golang and/or Ruby on Rails, with expertise in debugging and problem-solving - Sound knowledge of cloud architecture and application deployment - Familiarity with messaging pipelines like Kafka - Eagerness to mentor and support the growth of fellow engineers - Excellent verbal and written communication skills **Bonus Skills:** - Experience with MQTT - Experience with AWS Lambdas - Experience with AWS IoT - Previous work experience at a hardware company **About Motive:** Motive empowers the people overseeing physical operations by providing tools to enhance safety, productivity, and profitability.
