We are looking for a Manual Tester. This position will be full-time and Onsite Bangalore.
What Youll Do
- Understand business requirements and create detailed test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Define scope and objectives for functional, regression, exploratory, and UAT testing.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage and maintain traceability matrices.
- Execute manual tests for functional, integration, regression, and usability scenarios.
- Validate APIs using tools like Postman (basic request/response validation).
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing.
- Verify bug fixes and perform retesting to ensure closure.
- Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA or similar tools.
- Work closely with developers to reproduce, isolate, and resolve issues.
- Provide daily/weekly testing status reports and highlight risks.
- Test Management & Collaboration Tools: JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Confluence.
- Defect Tracking & Reporting: JIRA, Azure DevOps Boards
- API Testing Tools (Basic to Intermediate): Postman, Swagger
- Database Validation: MySQL, SQL Server
- Performance Testing Awareness: JMeter (understanding and Test script creation)
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to refine acceptance criteria.
- Suggest process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
What You'll Need
- Bachelors or masters in computer science, IT, or related field (Mandatory).
- ISTQB Foundation Level Certification (Preferred).
- 47 years of hands-on experience in manual testing for web, mobile, and backend services.
- Strong knowledge of STLC, SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience in functional, regression, system, integration, usability, and UAT testing.
- Basic knowledge of API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Exposure to SQL for basic database validation.
- Familiarity with defect management tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM.
Physical Demands
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationery most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
