Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead with strong expertise in Python and PySpark to lead data engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and solutions, mentoring team members, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of robust, scalable, and high-performance data pipelines using Python and PySpark.
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Optimize and troubleshoot existing data workflows and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Implement best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
- Guide and mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to development standards.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to automate deployment and monitoring processes.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and bring innovative ideas to the team.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation, scripting, and automation.
- Hands-on experience with PySpark for distributed data processing.
- Solid understanding of Spark architecture, RDDs, DataFrames, and performance tuning.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes, data wrangling, and transformation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and big data ecosystems.
- Knowledge of SQL and working with relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Apache Airflow, Kafka, or other data orchestration tools.
- Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with data lake architectures and data warehousing concepts.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
