Job Description
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in application architecture, performance optimization, and system design.
- Be a positive influence on the team by promoting a culture of innovation, nurturing new ideas, and growing and supporting engineers through mentorship.
- Collaborate closely with product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions that are robust and maintainable.
- Be a highly productive hands-on contributor building new features and enhancing existing functionality within the HomeWiseDocs platform.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring reliability and performance in production environments.
- Work with the technical leads and other stakeholders to develop project plans and participate in resource planning.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of back office services and customer-facing features.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in developing customer-facing software with responsibilities ranging from project planning to successful delivery of key features
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES2025)
- Extensive experience with Node.js, Express, and GraphQL
- Skilled in React, Apollo, responsive UI development, and adherence to accessibility standards
- Some familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
- Working knowledge of Docker for containerization and development workflows
- Familiarity with implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
- Hands-on experience with platform migrations, including transitioning from legacy monolithic applications (e.g., Java) to modern, modular architectures using technologies like React and Node.js
- Solid understanding of web application security best practices, including authentication, authorization, data protection, and mitigation of common vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, CSRF, SQL injection).
- Hands-on experience consuming REST web services and APIs
- Experience with modern tools such as NPM, Vite, Webpack
- Experience with testing tools such as Jest and Cypress
- Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) as productivity tools, including their practical applications in development workflows and awareness of their current limitations and ethical considerations
