Job Summary
We are hiring a certified and experienced Medical Coding Trainer with strong expertise in E&M, Surgery Coding, and ED Profee & Facility. This role is responsible for delivering structured training programs, supporting coders during transitions, and driving continuous improvement in coding quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, coding accuracy, and staying updated with US healthcare standards and payer-specific guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end process training for coding specialists in E&M, Surgery, and ED Profee & Facility domains
- Provide floor support during coder transitions to ensure quality benchmarks during ramp-up phases
- Deliver targeted training sessions based on audit findings and error trends to improve coding performance
- Publish monthly articles and updates on US healthcare and coding changes to enhance team expertise
- Ensure timely completion of onboarding and compliance training for new hires as per global and client requirements
- Participate in client calls, meetings, and knowledge transfer (KT) sessions as needed
- Lead training sessions on current updates in US medical coding, including regulatory and payer-specific changes
- Train coders on US healthcare systems and documentation protocols, with emphasis on E&M and surgical standards
- Develop and maintain training materials including presentations, handbooks, and learning modules
Job Specifications
- Strong understanding of E&M, Surgery Coding, ED Profee & Facility workflows, coding software systems, and documentation standards
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
- Must hold a valid coding certification: CPC / CCS / COC / AHIMA
- Graduate in any discipline with minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in E&M and Surgery coding
- Prior experience in training, coaching, or mentoring is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
