Job Description

Position: Associate/AVP - HR - Total Rewards (Compensation) - PAN India role


Location: Mumbai


Experience: 7+ yrs


Qualification: Full-time MBA (Mandatory)


The HR Total Rewards (Compensation) professional will be responsible for managing the compensation framework, including annual planning, benchmarking, analytics, and implementation of compensation strategies aligned with global standards. The role demands strong analytical acumen, stakeholder management, and an understanding of global reward philosophies within a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual compensation planning and execution process in alignment with business and HR objectives.
  • Manage compensation analytics and data management to support informed decision-making.
  • Participate in market benchmarking and compensation surveys; provide insights on market competitiveness and pay positioning.
  • Deliver consultative support to HR Business Partners and business leaders on pay structures, new hire fitments, and internal equity.
  • Coordinate with regional and global Total Rewards teams to ensure compliance with global policies and practices.
  • Design and maintain salary structures, pay bands, and job evaluation frameworks.
  • Manage relationships with external compensation consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Support ad-hoc projects related to compensation design, employee experience, and process enhancement.
  • Provide guidance on compensation-related matters including taxation, mobility, and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to broader HR initiatives in rewards and recognition, benefits harmonization, and performance-linked pay design.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Full-time MBA (mandatory).
  • 7+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits / Total Rewards in a large corporate.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • Sound understanding of compensation benchmarking methodologies and market survey participation.
  • Familiarity with HR systems such as SAP SuccessFactors or Oracle preferred.
  • Exposure to Indian statutory benefits and taxation framework.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
