Role Overview
The Quality Assurance POC for the Meat team will be responsible for ensuring that all meat products meet Zeptos stringent quality and safety standards from procurement to last-mile delivery. This includes monitoring cold-chain integrity, vendor compliance, hygiene standards, and adherence to FSSAI and internal SOPs.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily quality checks on incoming meat consignments (chilled and frozen) for temperature, texture, odor, packaging, labeling, and expiry.
Ensure compliance with FSSAI guidelines, Zeptos internal specifications, and customer safety standards.
Monitor storage and handling conditions at Collection Centers (CCs), Dark Stores, and Distribution Hubs ensuring temperature and hygiene controls are maintained.
Conduct vendor audits and inspections to evaluate slaughterhouse practices, sourcing hygiene, and documentation compliance.
Maintain detailed inspection reports and quality dashboards, highlighting non-conformities and action plans.
Work closely with the Procurement and Operations teams to manage product rejection, replacement, and corrective actions. Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of meat quality parameters, shelf life, and microbiological safety standards. Ability to use digital QA tools for reporting and data analytics.
Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
Problem-solving mindset with a focus on process excellence.
