Role & responsibilitiesRole & responsibilities
- Provide application support and implement SRE best practices across NFRT production environments.
- Handle incidents, escalations, problem management, root-cause analysis, and server administration.
- Perform technical troubleshooting for infrastructure, applications, and user issues.
- Develop automated solutions to reduce manual effort (toil elimination) and improve system uptime.
- Manage and administer Linux/Unix environments, Windows servers, databases, networking, storage, and web technologies.
- Configure and troubleshoot web servers (Apache/Nginx) and application servers (Tomcat/JBoss).
- Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and container platforms for deployment and environment stability.
- Configure monitoring, alerting systems, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Splunk).
- Partner with Infra, Network, Security, Storage, DB teams to deliver platform solutions.
- Build infrastructure design patterns, update documentation, and drive automation initiatives.
- Support vendor onboarding based on security standards & best practices.
- Participate in weekend/on-call rotation for production support.
Preferred candidate profile
- 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Application Support, SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Linux administration (5+ years) and scripting (Python/Shell).
- Experience with Kubernetes/Openshift, Docker, distributed systems, and SOA.
- Skilled in troubleshooting web & middleware technologies (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, JBoss).
- Knowledge of databases (Postgres, DB2, SQL, Sybase) and messaging (Kafka).
- Experience with load balancers, proxies, NAS/SAN storage, SSL/TLS, and secure hosting.
- Hands-on with observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Splunk.
- Strong understanding of SRE principlesautomation, resilience, monitoring & metrics.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in Cloud, Big Data (Hadoop/Cloudera), ELK, Redis, Airflow, OAuth/SAML is a plus.
- Prior experience in a global financial environment is preferred (not mandatory).
