Job Description
Job Summary
The .NET Technical Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of high-performance, scalable, and secure applications built on the Microsoft .NET platform. This role works closely with business stakeholders, product owners, engineering teams, and DevOps to define architecture standards, create technical roadmaps, and ensure that solutions align with organizational goals and best practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Define and own the overall application architecture for .NET-based systems.
- Create high-level and low-level design documents, architecture diagrams, and integration blueprints.
- Establish coding standards, patterns, and best practices aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
- Evaluate architectural options and recommend scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions.
Technical Leadership
- Provide guidance to development teams on .NET technologies, frameworks, tools, and architectural patterns (Microservices, Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, Event-Driven Architecture, etc.).
- Conduct technical reviews, code walkthroughs, and performance assessments.
- Mentor developers and lead technical decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Development & Integration
- Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes to validate complex requirements or emerging technologies.
- Oversee integration of third-party systems, APIs, cloud services, and enterprise platforms.
- Ensure optimal application performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and QA teams to refine requirements and design solutions.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and architectural blueprints.
- Communicate architecture decisions, risks, and recommendations to leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
DevOps & Cloud
- Define CI/CD pipelines, containerization strategies, and deployment architectures (Azure/AWS).
- Recommend cloud-native architectures including serverless, microservices, and PaaS offerings.
- Ensure alignment with DevOps, observability, logging, performance monitoring, and automation practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 12 years of experience in software development and architecture using .NET / .NET Core.
- Strong hands-on experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework Core, and microservices architectures.
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure, or AWS).
- Experience with RESTful services, gRPC, asynchronous messaging (Kafka/Service Bus), and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB).
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Experience with front-end frameworks (Angular/React) is an advantage.
Preferred skills
- Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Event-Driven Architecture.
- Exposure to security best practices, identity and access management (OAuth2, JWT, Azure AD).
- Prior experience in a technical leadership or architect role in large-scale enterprise projects.
- Understanding of performance tuning, scalability strategies, and distributed caching.
