Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Staff Management
- To be responsible for adequate well trained staff available for the department based on the scope of tests, complexity of tests and volume of work in the department To ensure that the department staff has adequate resources to perform various aspects of work required To ensure that the department staff adheres to the processes and protocols defined To participate in staff training & internal CMEs To attend external CMEs to enhance knowledge
IQC & EQAS Performance
- To be responsible for adequate use of controls and calibrators To provide inter-lab comparisons, critical values documentation & notification to doctors To maintain quality results by monitoring standards and controls (IQC & EQC) To be responsible for advanced trouble shooting; quality control measures and protocols
QC Reviews & Audits
- To actively participate in monthly QC review, internal audits & external audits Planning and organizing the management review meetings
Lab Process
- To Ensure the implementation of quality policy Implement a safe laboratory environment in compliance with good practice and applicable requirements To do microscopy wherever applicable
- To be responsible for authentication of reports To monitor and reduce the turnaround time through better efficiencies To speak to patients regarding clinical history To perform clinical correlation, STAT reporting, authentication of results To monitor error logs with CA/PA To comply with laboratory safety procedures To understand thoroughly tests and instrument SOPs and amending in case of discrepancies To investigate & resolve technical problems To design, implement and monitor Quality Management System as Quality Manager. Relates & functions actively with QA team. Supervises all work performed in the laboratory for a smooth & reliable functioning of the medical services rendered To identify need for adding new tests in scope Advises those requesting information regarding choice & interpretation of tests. To Ensure the provision of clinical advice with respect to the choice of examinations, use of the service and interpretation of examination results To Monitor all work performed in the laboratory to determine that clinically relevant information is being generatedTo Ensure the implementation of quality policy Implement a safe laboratory environment in compliance with good practice and applicable requirements To do microscopy wherever applicable
