Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities -
- Performing specimen analysis by using laboratory tools and equipment, in order to study samples and perform tests to accurately analyze bodily fluids and tissue specimens.
- Looking for abnormalities in samples that evidence disease and conveying this information to the relevant medical practitioner.
- Using checklists, medical software, and retesting to get thorough and precise results.
- Writing pathology reports detailing specimens tested, results of tests, and the final diagnosis.
- Responsible and accountable for the day to day running of the laboratory and ensuring meeting the caseload and turnaround time expectations of diagnostic tests during regular working hours.
- Telephonic consultations with laboratory clients regarding interpretation of laboratory data and other laboratory-related clinical issues, during routine hours
- Overseeing the installation, testing, calibration, operation and maintenance of new equipment
- Conducting interviews and hiring of health care staff including medical laboratory technologists and phlebotomist in conjunction with Human Resources department and support personnel along with planning for future staffing in the laboratory.
- Supervision of laboratory staff with regards to both personnel and operational management adjusting the work load assignments, delegating administrative functions and training medical laboratory technologists by providing them continuing medical education.
- Supervision of medical laboratory supplies inventory, anticipation of the needed supplies,overseeing the placing of orders for supplies and approving the verifying receipt of supplies.
- Preparation and maintenance of laboratory budget and planning of capital expenditure annually.
- Coordination and maintenance of laboratory safety procedures including biomedical and chemical waste management.

- Part time association (4:30 hours)/ Second Half of the day(after 2 PM) / 6 days a week
