Job Description: Manipal Hospitals is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our healthcare team. The candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory tests to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The Medical Laboratory Technician will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate test results, maintaining laboratory standards and protocols. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct laboratory tests and analyses to evaluate specimens, including blood, urine, and other bodily fluids.
- Prepare specimens for examination and analysis, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring they are clean and functioning properly.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Interpret and analyze test results, reporting any abnormalities to the supervising physician.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to deliver timely and accurate test results.
- Maintain accurate records of tests and results as per regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to enhance laboratory practices.
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies as needed.
- Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and techniques. Skills Required: - Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing tests.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills to relay information clearly to other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time efficiently.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and regulations. Tools Required: - Laboratory instruments and equipment (e.g., centrifuges, spectrophotometers, microscopes).
- Laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, masks, and lab coats.
- Computer software for data entry and report generation.
